Stay away from this place, and if you have the time to read these reviews, pay close attention to what they say, I wish I did in time. If you stop by a see a red jeep wrangler on big brand new 40" wheels (6 years old never used) thats mine, this guy lies on a daily basis my jeep have been sitting on this and his previous shop for almost 7 years now, a project that was supposed to be completed in 6 moths, this has been the worse experience for me, has failed to meet several new completion dates, He always comes up with excuses, many times he even forgets and gives me the same story of few months back. agreements are written on receipt yet He comes up with new charges for the same job that a fixed price has been agreed upon. now im going to seek legal help cause now my jeep is prisoner at his shop. Don't believe me or the other negatives reviews about David and his shop if you dont want to, but take extra precautions when bringing your vehicle over for work at this shop especially is its a big project.

I have a 24โ Jeep JT Rubicon and have been messing with it since I got it. Lifted, larger tires, different wheels, and plenty of other add ons. After doing all of that I noticed that a good breeze or the thousand overpasses around Houston I couldnโt keep 8th gear at all. I was stuck in 6th and 7th everywhere I went, except off-road but thatโs a given. Every place I talked to about the next step which was regearing told me to talk to David at Texas Auto Gear. After getting myself ready for the project and talking with David we got the gears swapped from 4.10 to 4.88, both Dana gearing. The driving I have done with it so far is a day and night difference. Love to hate to say this but it rides better than factory. Not sure if jeep was playing on the high or low side of the tolerances, but the gentlemen at Texas Auto Gear have this thing running smooth as butter. Couldnโt be happier with the knowledge, the information provided to me, and the friendliness that there was there. I would definitely recommend these fellas for anyoneโs future projects. Thank you David and team!

I tore up the stock 3.73s in my Duramax after 230k of towing. David and his team got me hooked up with a new Yukon gear set and turnaround time was excellent!!! Highly recommend

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! This was a nightmare. They had my 71 chevelle in for an estimated 2 or 3 weeks to narrow my rear end. Turned out, they had it for 2 months and still did not finish it. I was told I would be charged around $2,200 ended up paying $4,100 double the amount! Dave Yackley consistently lied about parts being on back order and having the wrong parts delivered to his shop. He also constantly used weather as an excuse for delays. I also found out, He put silicone on the transmission instead of a new gasket which he said he had done. He promised it would be ready every Friday for weeks. He took my steering wheel apart which had nothing to do with the work he was supposed to do, then use the steering wheel as an excuse why he couldnโt complete the work. Then to top it off he wouldnโt take my calls. Please do not trust David he will drag out the project as long as he can. And leave you with an incomplete job. This guy will come off as a very nice guy. Donโt let his initial impression fool you.

Took my land Cruiser here for a regear and rear locker. David is a stand up guy. Honest, fair prices and quick turn around. Kept me updated throughout the entire process and stayed true to his price. Would recommend for any 4x4 work.
